    Viny wrap bottom "splitter"

When I first bought the car, I ripped off my bottom front "splitter" or "spoiler" on a curb at the bank because I didn't realize how low it was...

I then got it repainted and fixed for about $120 the next day...

About a week ago I was driving up in the country to my other house and it happens to be a gravel road, and it made about 50 rock chips on the splitter...

Instead if getting this repainted every couple weeks, is there any alternative to protecting this? I was thinking of vinyl wrapping it flat black... Opinions??

No idea...it was at a reputable shop though (from what I was told)...I brought my car to him and he declined responsibility for the rock chips because "it's bound to happen with a low car and this splitter doesn't help when the rocks kick up"...I understand that, but fuck.

I guess you can put that plastic wrap stuff that bavauto sells for the front of the hoods and headlights. flat black wouldnt be a bad idea either.

Rustoleum truck bed liner from autozone, works like a charm and adds some black accent

3m vinyl wrap is good. you can get different thickness wrap and it sticks really well. its not too expensive either

Any sign or vinyl shop should be able to do it for you.

Another solution, try repainting it with PlastiDip. Do enough coats to use up a whole can.

and be SURE to space the coats properly. Do it wrong, and it reacts with itself and gets nasty.

I've seen PlastiDip parts hold up to some repeated rock/road debris collisions. Its cheap and very easy to get a good finish. This the reason it is so popular. You are limited to a matte black finish.

edit: "Easy" is a bit subjective. You can still orange peel a coat, but it is more forgiving than most automotive paints. Paint in low humidity and around 70deg. Apply coats thinner than you think you need. Space coats by ~5 minutes.

Just wrap it in clear vinyl.
