the spring in the steering wheel on the horn button?
learning to work on my own car has been the most rewarding part of owning e30s. i know that the job is being done properly with quality parts and i get to see whats going on in my car.
...i also couldnt afford them if i had to pay a shop.sigpic

As I was reading, I was about to mock everyone, call them retards, then tell them to look up the labor for the clock spring. It includes an alignment.Comment

yea I have zero patience for that, I shockingly painted my "is lip" on my own though, if I had the balls i'd rip out my cracked dash and put the new one in, but as of now it's sitting in the garage...Comment

It's not the "no-horn" situation I'd worry about, it's the fact that the clock spring also provides connection for the Air Bag.Comment

I shorted the horn in my truck on my 18th birthday. It's been that way ever since. I only miss my horn when there are asian people driving around me.
Dash isn't too hard..I've found that I've learn best if I just dive in and do it. If I fubar something, I come to this forum crying like a kid that fell off the jungle gym and r3v saves my ass. Errytime.1989 325is / 2.7, 274 cam, e30 M3 5-lug

Hmmmm I have had two 1988 325 ixs so far and I was able to buy both control arms from BMA parts for @ $520 and also both bushings for about $40 and it took a friend an me about 1.5 hours to replace them on a lift The most dificult time comsuming part was replacing the rear bushings since we did not have a really good press .....Comment
