Windshield wipers will not turn off

Once clicked to any position my wipers will not turn off, I have replaced the relay (in engine bay big black one), and the wiper stock.

    What is next? the motor?

you need to replace the switch in the steering column, sounds like it is not dropping connection once it is switched to the off position.
    Much wow

You may want to try the wiper control relay. Its the big black one in the fusebox. you could have a broken/stuck pole. They are expensive new, but you should be able to find one at a junkyard for cheap, most folks don't know what they are...

Edit: nevermind, I just saw that you already did that...

I guess all you can do is re-check the contacts in the fuse box and make sure that the harness in the steering column is in good order. You might have a bad ground or a chaffed wire somewhere along the bundle.

mine do that from time to time because a wire's jacket melted so the metal grounded on the car. so you could check to see if you have any exposed metal around the wires.

How awesome is this thread? I posted something on M42Club yesterday because I've been having this same problem. Got the same answers as here except this one. So I go look at my fusebox and what did I find? A fucking spare fuse stuck under the damn relay!! :D
