i believe fox originally bought it with the intent to turn it completely into a nascar channel but those plans were changed.. so it could have been worse... lol
but yes i agree that they should create a nascar channel and turn speed into more drag racing, f1, alms, rolex, wrc, all other fia series, grassroots, scca, nasa etc based station.

though i hate nascar i will hardly knock the technology or potential of the cars.... i've seen old circle track cars pull of the same lap times as a porsche cup car....

I loved it the year Nascar allowed the trans am cars to race on the same weekend at sears point. The Trans Am cars were 4 seconds a lap faster. Thats when Nascar decided they had to run another track configuration so they would not compare the two. Both Watkins Glen and Sears Point now will not let any other series run the same track configuration as Nascar. Very funny stuff..

I watched the long beach grand prix around 2003 in person and they were running trans am also. The trans am race was waaaaaayyyyy better than the cart race by far. :up:Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Those who control the NASCAR organization ought to create their own channel/network and then place a charge on it just like the NBA channel does. With as many races run in NASCAR (including, Cup & Trucks) as well as all the support programming, they have more than enough programming to fill most hours of the day. The off hours can be paid programming as another revenue stream.
Seeing all the product marketing this genre of motorsport rakes in, starting their own network seems like the next logical step. A take a page from Bernie Eccelstones' playbook about exclusive broadcast and content rights to corner the market too.Rides...
