Thank you. I was thinking the cage looked like a big clusterfuck but couldn't really say for sure. It's always nice when someone who knows what they're talking about speaks up.That cage is NOT built right at all. Major structural/safety components should NOT have bends in them, period. I don't give a shit how good your bender or welder is, any bends will significantly weaken the tube in the event of an impact.
Also I see lots of places where the tubes are not tied in at nodes but rather at midpoints of other tubes. Again, big no-no. What happens when a longitudinal force is applied to that tube? It's going to bend the shit out of the one it's tied in to and the whole thing will collapse.
The engine looks nice, sure. I'll give you that.paint sucksComment

It's just basic cage building 101. For safety/structural tubes, never bend and never tie in at any point besides a node. Both reduce the effectiveness of that member by a huge amount.Comment

"the cage" is probably one of the best set up cages i have ever seen. I could see that car rolling 8-9x and driver walking away. Not to mention the chassis stiffness that would come from it. Just because its been painted and fancied up does not mean its retarded it means the owner likes form just as much as function. And that engine is probably worth more then most cars on this forum. Before you get to the chassis/suspension work.Exactly. It has nothing to do with how fancy and painted up it is, it has everything to do with the builder of the cage probably failing geometry class because he spent too much time playing with his welder. It's built more for appearance than anything else by the look of it.That cage is NOT built right at all. Major structural/safety components should NOT have bends in them, period. Lee's 2k2 is an example of a STRONG cage.

2.6? 2.8? 3.0?
You need to look at proper race cars, then. As for stiffness, those bends and rounded sections are fucking useless. You need triangles in a cage.Pork Hunt Motorsport

What does that have to do with the price of eggs in China?
The funny part is that no half decent cage will have rounded bends like taht one and I've driven and helped build enough race cars to know.Pork Hunt Motorsport

oh yay, another skyline.. not even a GT-R. Don't even try to question the methods behind the cage guys, it's a skyline, so it's just awesome no matter what.
