I love E28s i was looking forever to buy another one as a winter beater buy couldn't find anything for sale local! ended up picking up a 4 door e30. but you can't kill a 528e e28. seriously. they are tanks!

I love E28s. I have owned three of them (and an E12).

However, E28s are heavier and not as sporty as the E30, plain and simple. I think that alone puts an E28 below an E30. Second reason runner-up is that the E30 offered the late model plastics, while the E28 went to the E34 before plastics were introduced.

I think that pretty much sums it up. I had a clean 535i with a five speed but hated those god aweful US bumpers. Moreover, it's not a straight-forward swap to euro bumpers. I'll only get another one if it's a true Euro. They are nice, roomy cars that stand out in a crowd.

Between the E34 and the E28...well, I really like the domlight control switch on the E28, how about that?

Yep, don't mind them other than the UGLY bumpers... they make e30 diving board bumpers look good.

One reason is that the E28 s are all sedans while the E30s are sedans, coupes and convets.

No E30 coupes were made. ;)

For cheap transportation, I found a CLEAN 82 eta E28.

Also - how's that weight distributed?


I'm getting older and maybe a slightly bigger and more comfortable old BMW would be right for me as long as it can keep a decent performance with same engine...
