I am 99% sure that is not an original Alpina cluster. it should have a 260kmh. and ever other number should be small/large.

Well, price seems to be going up quite a bit since the last 5 years.
Not affiliated with the seller, but the price is crazy.

Seems like a legit Alpina cluster too...

The problem these days is there are many fake Alpina clusters. The one in the Ebay ad above is most def fake. Alpina clusters did not come with black chrome trim rings and the needle paint would be all uniform in color.

The OP's cluster does look a little suspicious. The fuel gauge needle placement is way off, the temp gauge needle is obviously jacked up. Usually when a gauge reads max high, its because it has no electrical ground. Faulty Si boards can also cause the temp gauge to be pegged high.

I'm not saying its 100% fake or real, I would have to perform a in hand inspection to determine.

This is a old thread.

The recent FS thread where the Euro gauge cluster with the orange needles was sold as an Alpina cluster for $330 has me wondering what the value of a real Alpina cluster is. Anybody have a good guess? I've got the one from my black Euro car on the shelf and I've been thinking of selling it ever since I saw that thread. That car hasn't been on the road in a year now, and when it is back on the road a 7k tachometer probably won't be enough anyway.

So, speculate freely. Or don't. That's up to you. What is this thing worth? Discuss..

*Edit- Yes, there is black electrical tape covering the 'red line' in the tachometer. The last engine that this cluster was used with had a rev-limit set at 7,300 rpm.

*Edit again- Yes, that coolant gauge is funky. It rests where you see it in the picture and when you key the ignition 'on' it returns back to where it should be.

This is a real Alpina cluster. DOT in the past switched out the 260km for a US 140 mph.

The one on ebay is fake.
Early Alpina clusters to look for.

1) The Alpina logo in the cluster. The back ground is a little grey and brown color.
2) The speedo should be 260km.
3) The needles should be ORANGE.
4) It should have a white sticker with black letters saying Alpina on the back side of cluster.
Here is my early Alpina B6 2.8 or 3.5 cluster.
