or it could be so cold out that the heater isnt able to warm the air as you drive that fast. did you push the recirc button?

      the hoses are not backwards

its hot at low speed and cold at high speed
i can be at 5k in 1st and feel the heat but at 2.5k going like 40 or something it gets cold again

That sounds like your heater core is clogged up with crap. Mine is pretty much the same way. It gets warm, but nowhere near as hot as my other E30. If only heater cores werent so expensive!!

Check that. It's probably the 1st thing I would go to because it seems to happen a lot.

Multiple threads on it. I swapped mine too :)

OP, is the blower blowing air? and just cold air is coming out? Or is the blower not changing speeds?

              hoses are good
Are you sure that they are in the proper orientation.

There is one coming off the head and one coming from the spider hose area (honestly don't remember right now) And you have to make sure the right one is in the top of the firewall heater core pipe and the right one is in the bottom. Dont' remember which goes where at the moment.

                Yes hoses are good.

i still cant figure out why my blower only turns on sometimes. is that just a bad blower motor or should i check something else?

2 pages of this and you still haven't checked the blower fan fuse, blower resistor and blower fan?

20 year old blower and resistor... that COULD be a problem.

the only fuse i found related to the heater was #20 its a 30 amp fuse and its good

i havent checked the blower resistor because the blower still turns on sometimes. would the blower resistor cause the blower to turn on intermitently?

replaced the blower motor and seems to be blowing hot air again at high speed!
