Sure, the fan is a simple device and it's up to you HOW you control it's speed . Get a stock heater/fan box in there, route the hoses to the heater core and the heater core valve (valve is like an ON/OFF switch), and make your own switch for the fan... I don't know why you are so against this? This stuff does not weight a ton either.... this isn't an e34/e32/e39+ setup

This entire thread went way off tangent. I needed heat, i had access to some lexan, a heater core, some hoses, and could get some fans, I figured its worth a try.

My major mistake was not putting in the first post "Or if you have any helpful advice comments please discuss". Instead i got a bunch of bashing.
