KOPI ALPINAS or RONAL ACT LS's????????

Guys, i need some help. Here we are at Christmas and i can't figure out what my gift to myself will be??? I was set on the Ronals after seeing a few of the 15inchers on some White 318is' like mine. I autocross, and i think the chassis is better suited to a 15 inch wheel. i have the MTechnic Shocks and Struts w/ e30M3 springs. Now, lately i've been seeing some killer E30's with the 17inc Kopi's??? they look pretty hot also. i need some opinions and PIC's. If i go with the Kopi's i'll pro'lly get some dedicated auto-x tires for my basketweaves. Also, anybody know the cheapest place to get either?

If you plan on auto-xing on these new wheels then go with the Ronals since they are lighter and that's what you want for track work. However, if you have a dedicated set of wheels with track rubber and are looking for a second set of wheels to use for your daily driving (and aren't as concerned about unsprung weight) then get the Alpina Kopis.

if you are going to use your existing rims for auto-x, go with Alpina Kopis!
They are very strong (I had them on for at least 5 track days in addition to normal street driving). Ronals are tiny compared to Kopis, size does matter !

One thing that you may want to think about is ride-quality. Depending on where you are, you may run into problems with bending a rim or two if you go with 17s. I recently got a set of Ronal LSs and I'm very happy with them. Sometimes I do wish they are 16s rather than 15s but in my opinion they do give the car a "right look". It's what BMW should have done in the first place.

          Hope this helps.

            .
But they did we just never got them here. I like the look also of the 15's and 16's max. The Ronal lLs looks nice but if you can find the BBS RZ like E9nine has they look sweet.

Besides with the 15's your car will be lower in stance than monster 17's.

15s are the best all round size IMHO. They can be made to look good with the right sized rubber on them. I wish I could go wider than 205/55 but my offset restricts me and I rub on load in turns

We always get the low end of the scale and get 14" baskets while the others got 15"

I say ronals.. alpinas are getting to be pretty common, plus nothing beats a deep dish basketweave with a polished lip.

I would have gotten Ronals if I hadn't gotten Kosei'. I say definately Ronal.

Ronals carry an originality factor but Id rather rock the alpinas on the street and put my money into koseis for my track wheel. They seem like a better alternative than the ronals (aka lighter)

                            Easy...

Ronal are nice rims. Kopis rock.

14" or 15" bottlecaps / basketweaves with some sticky autox
                            17" Alpina Kopis

I thought they stop producing those LS rims?

BTW: I am selling some 14" bottle caps with 195/60/14 (I believe) Good Year GSCS r-compound tires. $250 obo plus shipping. Have about 70% tread left.

Ronals. Preferrably the ones with the deeper dish

after a while you'd look at the 17's and realize they are too tall for the E30.
