I dont know though, asking here will just get so many opinions, mine is split because I dont have all of the details. If you really knew what you wanted its always possible to look into situations further, but more likely than not it would be a waste of time and resources. Unless you just wanted to feel resolved whatever the outcome that is. Fighting the ticket and getting out of that (a lot more likely than pointing fingers and not backfiring) would probably boost your mood relatively well.
Yeah, i understand him saying, get in the car. But he was worried about the same accident happening again. Oh and i've driven this road hundreds of times before and i know how to take it and i've never seen any accident on it before. But yes i'll probably end up just fighting the ticket and nothing more. The car is prettymuch totalled.

So go buy another one. E30's are a dime a dozen, for all intents and purposes, and they're all blank canvases, ready for modding. Start over. Remember the first day you drove your car? First mod you put on it? Remember how you felt when you did it?

Instead of being so negative, turn this into a positive. You weren't hurt, and cars can be bought over and over again. Life is good :)

People with uncrashed cars follow these speed limits.

I'm sorry, but you really stuck your head up your ass on this comment. I'm a speeder. I love to speed. But will I ever claim that speed limits are for pussies? No. Speed limits are there for everyone, not just granda drivers. Those grandma drivers will drive 65 even if the speed limit is higher - so it has to be lower to keep you from doing 90 and coming up behind one of them. Just because your car can handle higher rates of speed doesnt mean everyone elses can. What do you want, a "sports car" lane, so people who have fast cars can go by their own speed limits?

You aren't the only one on the road, as awesome as our cars are they still have limits, and speed limits are there for everyone. Not just pussies. If you're gonna speed, man up, take responsibility if something happens. That's the price you have to pay, and if you can't, slow the fuck down.
You really got the wrong idea for what i was saying. Lol, i wasn't trying to make it all better or justify it. I was merely looking at it and laughing. I was just saying that it sucks and was not to get you to side with me. Plus most of you drive the exact same way i do i'm sure. And i was more referring to the recommendations then the limits. But again i wasn't using this to justify my case, just laughing it.

But thank you everybody, i pretty much got the info i wanted despite all the bickering. I will try to fight the ticket but yeah i'm not expecting any compensation from the city for the debri in the road. But i probably won't be driving for a long time, i have no money i'm still a student, i literally spent 80% of the rest of my money on this car.

Last post before i go to bed, but this thread has turned interesting. Basically just something i left out earlier. Yeah, the cop was worried that another accident would happen in the same way as yours did, but probably would have been better if he just asked you to stay in your car w/o so much as a reason. If I was an officer I sure wouldnt want some dead guy on my hands cause I didnt ask them to step back in their car. EVEN if the cause of the accident wasnt related to road conditions at all, say from a tire blowing out or something, the cop took the simple precation any authority figure should do and erred on the side of caution on the side of a road. For all ya know, another car could blow a tire or do something stupid, spin out of control, or otherwise take you out.

Oh, I wouldnt exactly consider them dime a dozen quite yet either. I saw them reffered to that in a previous thread somewhere that someone else put that straight. Some are super cheap but a good to very fine example even worthy of mods surely isnt :)

Im out of here, try to feel a little better about it. At least you didnt go OVER the guardrail, I assume it was serving some sort of purpose. :P

The insurance should give you something for the car. Even if it's $500, go find a beater E30 for $500. They're not pretty, but you can find a decent one with a lot of haggling for around there. Then at least you have something to get around in and put some parts on. Just my opinion.

And I'm one of thsoe guys who'd rather find a $500 e30 and build it up myself than get a 4K e30 with nice body and paint and low mileage. Takes all the fun out of it. :)

If you were going 15-20mph slower, even if you still didn't see it, you would've had much less of a car control problem.
This is true. But still who on earth actually follows these. They are for grandma drivers in cars with horrible weight distribution, e30s laugh at speed recommendations. Adam, I am agreeing with you here, i'm just pointing out that it sucks for us.
If you ignore the cautionary ramp speed suggestion, would you have also ignored your debris warning as well??!?

What do you want? The state to be your mommy and tell you want to do and make it all better. Take some personal responsibility yo.

I guess e30s laugh at speed recommedations.

And a guard rail laughs at yours.

              your R3V > your car.

You're all a piece of work

It was posted as a suggested 45mph.
That is the effective "speed limit"
                  you were going 60.
                  thats 15mph over.

you were going to fast for the conditions, and failed to negotiate a turn.
                  Blam, you're at fault.

your car is totaled. Good work.

All of you need to grow the fuck up, take responsibility for your stupidity, and stop trying to find a way to blame society, the city, and the other drivers for your fak ups.

All I can say is, at least you came out without injury.
But pull your head out of your ass, and face it like an adult.... your fault, your responsibility.
                  Below the radar...

Yes, laws are okay to break as long as the majority of people don't follow them.

I need to print this shit off, people would never believe me if I told them.

I know that corner very well and there are days I don't take it above 45....I can easily see what happened though, especially with those steel grates they have on there.

but all in all you were speeding

Did anybody else laugh out loud when they read this?

Anyways, it is indeed crappy that you totalled your car, but after insurance pays out you should be able to get another eta faily easily. Good luck fighting the ticket.
