    318is 1991 rpm fluctuate

for some odd reason my car rpm fluctuate from 800 to 1k while idling at the red light. can a bad fuel injector cause the rpm to be bouncy ? it only does it here and there. Should I buy fuel injector cleaner for the hell of it?

No there is a bracket holding the icv to the corner of the intake manifold. Undo the nut and the vacuum hoses attached to it and the icv comes out

you dont need to untighten any nut to get it out..just disconnect the hoses...and pull it out of the rubber thing that holds it...

                    you assume correctly.

My M42 does this too, but only when it is brutally cold out. When i start my car in the morning, it's fine, and by the time the car is warmed up, the idle will bounce back and forth from 1000-1500 rpm, and it is SUPER annoying.

also, wrong section for this thread. There is an M42 technical section.

                        should probably mention vacuum lines.
They dry out, crack, and cause leaks over time.
                        Check the simple stuff first..
                        Run some searches.

all the hose have been replace from the previous owner and of course i search before i ask people.
another question about the icv, there is a arrow on icv should it be point up toward the hood or down? also how do i clean icv because it seem the only way to clean is spraying brake cleaner inside icv hole. for honda you can take the whole iacv apart.:)
