2002 maxima cuts off when put in neutral...

Hey all, my mom drives a 2002 maxima and its been having some issues lately, here's what has been happening:

When I'm rolling up to a light, I'll push the clutch in, drop it in neutral and then let off the clutch. As the RPMs wind down, they will drop BELOW normal idle speed and every now and then it won't be able to recover and the engine will stall.

What should I start looking at as the culprit of this issue?

^ Right, sometimes it recovers and sometimes it dies on me.

I'll place my bet on the electronically controlled throttle body.

I'm with farbin, or a vacuum leak.

Pull the dip stick when it's running. if nothing changes look for a vacuum leak. and yeah an obdII reader would be nice
