If you want more power out of your eta you can do an "i" intake swap and some will tell you that your better off than the 325is guys. Because an eta with an i intake manifold is essentially a 327is.

If you like plastic bumpers better than your diving board bumpers those can be swapped too.

            318is.

its much more collectible than a 325es. worth way more.

but it comes down to which has the cleaner (rust free) chassis.

if the 318is in as good or better shape, 318is no question. Even in stock beat to shit form, it's still a fun car to drive.

the question is, why does the other guy want to trade down to a 325e?

I do. I get bored if I don't break 7400 at least once on my daily drive. 5000 would drive me nuts :p

Because your going to lower the compression so low you'll be making dick for power. Theres proper ways of doing a 2.7i setup and that isn't one of them. That's pretty much useless for anything other than going turbo.

Well suck me sideways, the fact that you mentioned only swapping an i intake manifold over is laughable. You need to do some serious searching.

Lulz well I dont have an eta so I am obviously not as well read as I should be to make a valid comment on the subject.

I will still say that whatever car you DO have, there are numerous options to add more power. So what you should worry about is which of the cars has a cleaner body.

Fair enough I've owned two eta's, I've researched the living shit out of stuff like this. But now I have an i so I don't really care. You still shouldn't spread misinformation around though, there's plenty of that already.

You forgot to call him an idiot for saying intake manifold too... you're definitely going to want the head as well.

Thanks for the honest opinions everyone. As far as bodies the eta body has 0 rust, I couldnt even find any around the plate lights or frame rails. When I took the interior out to really clean the floor boards didnt even have scratches in the paint. The body on the 318 looks really good from just looking casually. I'll have to give it a really good inspection when I head back over. I really got alot of informative opinions and thank all of you for them. I have a good idea of what I'd like to see happen over the next week. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Kershaw, when I get up and runnin' I'll come meet you at the CP meet one Friday.

Sounds like you've got a handle on things, drive the 318, trust your instinct.
