need advice about a WELDER?

I recently bought a Lincoln 140C 110v welder and am very happy with it. The welder before this was a flux core Lincoln wire feed and it laster well over 15 years and still works great. You are going to have a hard tie finding anything for around $500 though. With a bottle of gas and no cart, my mine was over $600, and that was on sale.

I fixed my obc when i first bought my car.. never did and either use a circuit welder"screwdriver".. just bought it at radioshack along with the thin metal wire and do it.. had to do it like 3 times to get it right...

i know you can weld ALU with a mig welder and other types of carbon base metals. but ive never heard of mig welding mag or Ti

I am fairly sure that there is some submerged arc stuff out there doing production TI work and you can get S.S. wire and rod for both SMAW and GMAW (stick and Mig)

Are you wanting to learn to weld and purchase a quality welder, or are you looking to make your pipe for less than $300 as you stated in the original post? We're in Pompano Beach if you need help with at least the basics of the machine you purchase.

i know 300 bucks its a good price.. assuming its gonna be made by a professional and alot of work involved.. i dont mind paying that money for it.. but at the same time i would love learn how to weld, i always liked welding! and i think it might be a good idea to borrow my ex boss welder and at least try to do the exhaust my self.. but still i have no idea on how to do the bends!.. idk.. Pompano isnt that far lol!! have u been at the meets by ft lauderdale?

for your exhaust you can go to airflow.com and buy prefabbed elbows, flanges, clamps, ect. Its like a candy store more for larger exhaust but they do have smaller diam stock.

yep, they'll teach you how to weld with oxy/acet and a coat hanger old school style all the way up to tig if you desire so.

I like my oxy/acety setup. Feels more like the way things should be. Quiet too. Eerily quiet.
