Looks like Mclaren's just might be a threat afterall. I really hope Button does better than Hamilton this year.
Damn I can't wait for qualifying tomorrow!!
I'm willing to bet he does just because Hamilton is horrible with tire management and with the new tires it's going to be all about how well you maintain your softs.
McMerc did surprise in q2, which makes me wonder what RBR and Ferrari have left in the bag.
Also I think McMerc were usibg the moveable wing around the whole track, and I know RBR was only using it on the front straight as per quali and the race rules allow.

Absolutely. You'll see folks likes Button, Schumi, Rubins do very well this season just because they can drive smooth.
They need to break Prost out of retirement and put him in a mid pack car so he can wipe everybody's ass.

Hamilton may surprise you, he can be smooth when he needs to be. Which is why he is very good in the rain, and Schui is not that easy on tires with his preference for tail happy cars.
You are spot on with the tires seeming like they will favor guys like Button and Rubino, but it seems like 8-10 laps is the max for any driving style, it will be very interesting. So much of the race will be determined by quali and you only need one golden lap for that.
Correct, unless the stewards make an exception due to circumstances and look to see if the team had a time within the 107% in one of the practices or something.

You seem to forget that Schui was as fast as everybody else when he was in cruise mode, the only time he'd abuse hit tires is when they asked him to pop 10 quali laps in a row and he'd do it.
If I guy can do a three stop race and everybody else has to make 4 and the delta for pit in/out is close to 30 seconds, that's a huge advantage.
You also have to factor in that Matchet was saying last night that when these new tires folded it could be a six second penalty for that very next lap and when the went and it was like a light switch when they do it. Make that mistake twice plus the 30 second delta and a guy running 1/2 a second a lap slower than you the whole race will beat you to the flag at the end.
These are going to be some interesting races this year.
Sadly he will most likely fail but I really hope that he can put a good race together

what network are you guys watching on other then speed? directv decided to take my speed channel away!
speed online has the practice sesions, but for quali, race I cant help you. Some guys are able to get the bbc feed but I dont know how they are getting it.

Yeah your right, I guess I was more refering to his prefered car setup. Matchett was also saying how pitstops will be the drivers call as the tires fall off so suddenly it will be up to the drivers to determine if they can get one or two extra laps out of them before the tires degrade, puts a new twist on things if true...
