      iirc it was around one million dollars.

        it was about $35,000 in 1991, which is why it was such a surprise when the E36 M3 came out about the same price 4 years later in US trim, it was much more in euro trim

                            In the late 80's and early 90's, verts were quite popular. Perhaps the 92 was more expensive due to the automatic top? It was quite a luxury back then.

                              IIRC, my 89 M3 retailed at 35,xxx while my 88 vert retailed at just under it. maybe $500 difference.
