That's what I was thinking. Beemerfanatik, realistically, I think less than 10 people would ever buy that storage tray if BMW made them again, especially if it was for some jacked up price. -
Are you sure about that, I have a euro 300SEL 1969 and there are many parts that I can not get at all.Originally posted by trentWow, don't you guys know how Mercedes works?
Mercedes has a policy that NO MATTER the part, they will make it if ordered. Even for a very old car etc, if you need it, they will supply it. That doesn't mean the price hasn't gone up 10 fold though!
Do I think BMW do this? Hell no, its a waste of money!
Beemerfanatik, not to be a dick, but you don't know squat about how a business works.

These details make the part unavailability not suprising.Originally posted by europeanplatesAre you sure about that, I have a euro 300SEL 1969 and there are many parts that I can not get at all.Originally posted by trentWow, don't you guys know how Mercedes works?

Thats what I am saying, a replacement motor is over 15k alone. BTW most of these rare BMW parts can be located. I have found every rare part I wanted for my M pretty easy, two calls or emails at the most. Having the part number disc helps out a lo as well.

If I don't know squat about how a business works, but Mercedes is doing exactly what I am suggesting BMW do, is Mercedes tanking and I didn't hear about it?Originally posted by trentWow, don't you guys know how Mercedes works?

Just because it's not the BEST way profit wise to run a business doesn't mean your customers (even 10 of them) won't be happy. Seems to be working for Merc.Comment

I just spoke with a friend you has searched out parts for a few of my different projects. Mercedes will not and does not run off rare parts for there cars. If you have a source please let me know. BTW I am not a huge fan of the new MB cars they have some problem in my opinion.Originally posted by BeemerfanatikIf I don't know squat about how a business works, but Mercedes is doing exactly what I am suggesting BMW do, is Mercedes tanking and I didn't hear about it?Originally posted by trentWow, don't you guys know how Mercedes works?

I was told opposite by a Merc parts guy. Last time I ordered some rear Merc parts was a few years ago however for '69 280. Maybe they realized it doesn't make sense and stopped the program! :)Originally posted by europeanplatesI just spoke with a friend you has searched out parts for a few of my different projects. I remember an episode of Top Gear about the old SL. They were saying how they were amazed; Mercedes still makes every part for that car.Originally posted by trentI was told opposite by a Merc parts guy. Mercedes isn't the only one....BMW's Mobile Tradition has parts made for the older cars for inflated prices. There is already talk of reissuing some E30 parts that have been discontinued.
I have headlight wipers for sale. They came on a set of Smileys I bought off Ebay.
I only have the wiper motors, brand new arms, and new wiper blades. I will take $100 shipped.
You would need the headlight rims with squirters, the reservoir with pump, hose, wiring, switch, and possibly a relay to make it work.
Last time I checked, the headlight rims were still available.John

They were made by Pfeba in Germany. Kind of the forerunner of MTech. I have a Pfeba front spoiler, side skirts, rear skirt, and rear spoiler. They are all made from high quality urethane....OEM quality. The only part I have installed on the 318i is the front spoiler.there is that front spoiler that I've never seen in the States saw it once in europe when i was there... the one with like 3 slits cut in it on the sides i dont know much about them

I also have the original and rare organizer tray over the rear battery..complete with OEM German triangle and OEM first aid kit! These two things fit perfectly into the long compartment and rectangular compartment, respectively. Came with the car when we picked it up in Munich as a Canadian Export (Euro-Delivery model) so that we could drive in Europe meeting their standards.
Also..I no longer have it..but there was a BMW cylindrical part we got that fits into the gas tank opening that adapted the diameter so that you could fill it with leaded gas. (The car was driven on leaded for a year before the cat was installed as it went on the ship from Bremerhaven to Canada)'86 325 original owner for 20 years * SOLD *

Most of those things are available on Ebay a lot so while they aren't really 'rare' they are pretty cool.Originally posted by Marvin_HechtI also have the original and rare organizer tray over the rear battery..complete with OEM German triangle and OEM first aid kit!
