Orrrr maybe I'll just install it in my car. ;)
I'm guessing CR = Close Ratio ? I didn't know they made one for the M20

Some of the dumbest stuff is nla. seriously.

Like having a small room with some jack covers and stuff would really kill them. I hate when they decide no more need to be made.

They're not friggin beany babies, why do they need to be "retired" and shoot the damn price up? BMW sees no profit on used parts.

well, considering the amount of parts still available for our cars (down to every nut, bolt and clip) I don't feel too bad about it. I know other people with cars of a similar vintage that can't get shit from the dealer..

But to use that same point against you, if they have so many parts available, why not have ALL the parts available? I can understand expensive stuff - like the glass roof - not being produced. But why not a jack cover? why not an ABS plastic organizer? It's just dumb to have 90% of the parts available, and 10% not.

Do you really think BMW gives two shits if 10 people would want to buy a little plastic piece to put in their trunk because its rare? I don't blame them for discontinuing a lot of things.

BMW does give a shit about us,
it´s only demand that is maintaining current parts beeing made.

Imagine all the water pumps that are bought,
anybody think they would sell as many glass sunroofs??
They only sell replacement and wear out parts, all the other stuff is sold out and not enough demand for it,

Gunni, you and I are saying the same thing. I don't see why BMW would keep making those dumb little trays for the trunk, but obviously all the real wear parts are still available for our cars.

It also has to do with who makes the parts. BMW doesn't make a lot of the componants of the engines or suspensions themselves therefore they will be available for as long as those manufacturers see fit.

The body componants and pieces are what are NLA and that is what BMW makes. The reason that a lot of the little shit is still available is that it's used on even the new cars.

So people that have paid a few times more than what the part costs new just because they can't get it anymore, that isn't demand? Obviously people want these parts. When a bunch of people start asking for an NLA part, why can't they make more?

Because the overhead costs of putting an NLA product such as a little piece of plastic back into production most likely outweigh the profits they'd see.
