Getting my wisdom teeth pulled was the best experience I have ever had at a dentist. I counted backwards from ten, then immediately woke up wondering when they were going to start. Took me a few minutes to realize it was done. Then I drank milkshakes for the next few days.

My buddy just got his wisdom teeth taken out last Friday and he's been doing alright with it except he's had freaking horrible breath this last week. He went to the dentist for a follow up today and I just got this email from him.

I went to the dentist and told him I was doing great but I still was a little sore on my left side which made it hard to eat. I also told him that my left side has had a bad taste to it, if that makes since, and I’ve had terrible breath all week. So he takes a look and pulls a quarter of an olive out of where my tooth used to be! I almost passed out from the smell honestly, maybe the worst smell I’ve ever encountered. Its been in there a week. Anyways about 5 minutes afterwards I started feeling great, absolutely no pain at all that horrible taste is gone.

This^ minus the milkshakes. But for 45 minutes after I sat in a recovery room throwing up blood. The assistant said he had a hell of a time getting them out, and that I bled alot. BTW it was $1250 for all (4). Dental insurance picked up $1000, and I had to lay out $250. They started to really bug me in mid-December, but I had to wait till January for my Dental Insurance to reset for the new year.

Wisdom teeth often become impacted. That's what raises the risk of infection. If they grow in all the way and aren't causing you problems, then they don't take them out.

I had three, and all were impacted.

Ha, good thing about state-run insurance, the dentist is free. Hehe.
But I never go to one of those because they're like butchers of mouths.
Private dentist, $40 a visit, but the comfort is worth it.
I still have all my wisdom teeth though, but strangely last night in my dream (or nightmare if you wish) I got one of them out with my fingers, then came the one next to it out as well. Weird.

I had one upper tooth removed 2 weeks ago. Took one weak pain killer before going to sleep and was eating normally the next day. Will probably do the other 3 very soon too.

Thank the maker. If I were to do it with my normal dental plan my co-pay would've been close to $1500

How the hell did you make that happen? I was on the waiting list for 3 and a half years at Ft. Stewart for freakin crowns. They said the Army is short on dentists, so what do I do? I go back to school as a SSG/E6 and I am currently working on getting my degree so I can go to dental school and be the highest paid officier in the military! So apparently the waiting list for me ends when I get my degree. Hope all is well in theater brother! Send my your address and I will get a box together for you.
