You cannot graduate tech school with a commission as an officer! you will just be an airman like everybody else.

What you can use to your advantage is Tuition Assistance, which is $6,500 in free money to go to school. Most bases have the same collages on the installation that will suck that TA dry in 5 classes. But still 5 classes a year for free while you work full time is a full load. Especially with ATC who often work rotating shifts (2 days, 2 swings, 2 mids, 2 off).

Most people, especially first termers, don't take advantage of TA for good reasons. Once you get out of tech school, you have CDC's to finish (FAA ratings for ATC) then you need to finish your regular upgrade training. Throw in a deployment or two, and all of a sudden it's been 3 years since you've joined and you haven't touched a book.

Or you can get stuck at a sleepy hollow base with a very slow pace and an awesome supervisor that kicks you in the dick to go to school... it all depends.

Yes take advantage of Tuition assistance. Getting a degree while still on active duty is tits. It will help with promotions and down the road you can get your direct commision or what ever they call it in the AF.

We don't have a proper PX at our FOB. The Task Force runs a 'shopette' and usually sends someone up to Bagram to stock-up on regular supplies every week or so. Needless to say, the selection is sparse.

                  Count me in!

41 yrs. ago I made airborn deliveries for the Navy (F-4 Phantom II) in a little known peninsula jutting out into the China Sea, which we floated on for up to 5 mos. at a stretch - Station Dixie/Yankee.

Domestically, our involvement was not popular, so we received little support, even though we were doing the job our country's leadership assigned to us.

On any given day at the office, there was plenty of red sh*t flying past my window. In fact, I never delivered anything unless it was directly to the source of all that red sh*t.

I'm not complaining, the folks at home refusing to support us were the ones with the problem, not us.

But, I'm happy to see that our country has evolved to the point that no matter what they may feel about the policy, the need to support the troops is separate and cannot be ignored.

                  Cheers!

Nope, haven't gotten it yet. The rumor is that there is a bunch of mail for the FOBs stockpiled up at Bagram due to the shitty weather we've been having lately. It has been clear the last couple of days though...

I don't want to start a debate war, but the U.S is wasting their time there and are feeding rich capitalistic bastards who make money from selling weapons and shit that isn't important. Fighting something that the U.S thought they can win. Your not gaining anything there. Just making things worse for the U.S That's why they never let the U.N join the war there because they are fucking hungry capitalistic bastards. I will only respect those who are in the reserves that are ready to fight a war that isn't just about making money and a war that is really meant fighting. I.E. WW2. This will make things even worse. Then what will HAPPEN when Iran does decide to help out Afghanistan? Nuclear war, WW3, end of the world. And if Iran vs U.S starts a war, a civil war will break out in the U.S just to save humanity.
I oppose war, but I don't oppose the military.
WTB E30. Right now $1500+ Vert or 4 door only.

Yeah, we didn't get any mail for almost 2 weeks, and then about 4 days ago our mail guy couldn't keep up. We had like 12 packages just for my unit alone (3 guys).
