Just sent a hammer through the passenger window

The e36 is a really shitty car. My door latch froze last night. The last car I had this happen to me on was a 88 Nissan Sentra. Make sense because the e36 is a lower build quality than the sentra.

So this morning the handle lifts up but doesn't return so I can't close my door. Its 7:45 I have to leave in 15 mins to the airport for my flight. I go in and get my luggage. I put my luggage in the car and go to figure out why the door wont shut. While Im trying to shut it, the shitty cheap ass door panel I cannot believe came from a BMW unclips itself again and I don't see it lock the car by pressing down on the lock/unlock indicator. Finally the latch catches but the car is locked. So Im trying to unlock the car with the pod as I only got one key when I bought the car. The other key is broken off in the driver's door lock. The shitty fucking panel is keeping the car locked. The panel has the lock/unlock indicator pressed down. The car is running its now 8:05 and I have to be at the airport in 30 mins and now my luggage and tools are locked in my car.

So what else does one do? Estwings really do have wings. I fucking hate that car so much its going to the junkyard. Its a 96 318ti. Anyone want parts off of it before I send it to get crushed? It has Koni's and bavauto springs on it, Treehouse cabs, poly motor mounts.

Yeah, that happened to me on my former E36. I just lubed the lock mechanism with silicone grease after allowing it to defrost a little.

Instead of using a hammer, I would have used a hair dryer. Not throwing it thru the window, but using it to thaw the frozen mechanism. Until next time. Hoping in the meanwhile you would have had time to lube it.

Are you leaving the car at the airport, windowless?
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

The mechanism works fine now. It was I couldn't unlock it because the door panel was hooked over the lock and prevented it from unlocking. It was constantly giving the car the lock command.

I actually have two spare windows I saved out of my old ti. But I just hate that fucking car so much I don't want to replace it. No its in my driveway. Im hoping I get 16" of snow inside it from the storm coming this week.

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

if youre int 'maintaining' it, i use some form of military gun lubricant. (russain, german, swiss, austrian, ..anything from a cold place). is supposed to make sure your rifle is working in ..colder climates.

can't harm the door latches and hinges.
U just need to make sure its lubed every other week in winter.
