I had a new set of wheels mounted and balanced with new tires. I'm getting vibration if I go over 40 mph. Do I need a set of hub rings?

as blefevre said, you NEED to have hub rings if the bore is any bigger than stock.Tri color fabric for sale here!

I think you may need some hub rings. If this has been suggested before please disregardComment

I had the same problem way before I ever knew anything about wheels/offset/center bore diameter/width/bolt pattern etc. When I was a youngster, I just thought if they had 4 bolts and mine had 4 bolts, itd fit. Dumbass. Fucking dudes at the shop played stupid too. They were BBS RX's made for an Integra and they knew goddamn well it wouldnt fit my car but they took me hook, line, and sinker.

I'm sure the bore is bigger on the new wheels, there's a shop close that has hub rings that I could buy. I picked the wheels up for cheap locally from an E30 guy, he doesn't know what kind of wheels they are...I'm going to take pics later on this evening.

Oh I didnt even think they had plastic ones. Why would someone skimp on something so important and so affordable anyways? I guess if they didnt see/know the problems with it.

The plastic ones on my friend's car lasted about 2 times of taking the wheels on and off, the shop who he bought the setup from installed them and he was unaware until we did some work on his suspension.
Another trick (temporary) is to jack the car up, and equally tighten the lugs down while the wheel is in the air. This should center the wheel enough for normal driving while you locate some hub centric rings.Chris

The guy I bought the wheels from has the hub set that originally came with the wheels. Not sure why he didn't give them to me when I bought the wheels. They will be installed tomorrow. The plastic ones on my friend's car lasted about 2 times of taking the wheels on and off, the shop who he bought the setup from installed them and he was unaware until we did some work on his suspension.
