This comes down to the dumbest rule ever in motorsports. One set of tires for qualifying and the race. And its supposed to be less expensive?? Wasn't it Kimi that wrecked his car because he couldn't change tires??

Then Michelin is to blame as well. This is very bad for F1. It was nice having it here. Later.

The teams have 1 tire to replace during the race in case of problems. The tire exploding on the McLaren car was McLaren's fault for not bringing the car in (I don't care if he was in 1st place at the time, driver safety is paramount).

kimi's tire didnt explode at the nurburgring, the flat spotted tire caused the suspension to explode, but your point is still valid.

also, why do people blame bernie for the tire rules, the v8's in 06, crippling the aerodynamics, and most recently the usgp farce. max mosely is the one behind all that, and he is the one that denied the chicane at turn 13. bernie just owns the commercial rights to f1, he doesnt play a big part in rule changes.
