I agree std. E30's are not collectors, Just the M3, alpina, touring, and the cabby's. THe std. coupes were made to often. Thats why my M3 is garage queen with an ins. value of $30,000

Hard to say... you can argue they made too many of them for them ever to be 'collectible' but then again, they made a hell of lot more Mustangs and look at those. Even newer ones. Try searching for an early LX 5.0 in unmodified condition. They have become rare and now sell for a surprising amount of money. A clean, unmolested (or moderated molested) E30 325is is becoming equally rare.

My E30 is basically treated as a collector car. It even has collector-car insurance and I'll be trying to get classic registration this year (mainly to avoid the annual emissions inspection). After driving mine around for awhile last year while I was fixing my daily driver TDI, would I want an E30 for a DD? Fuck no... After that week, I hated it so much I was ready to sell the damn thing. It made the fact it was designed 20+ years ago quite apparent. I'm hoping I can build it into a fun auto-x car over time, but as a street car, we just have too many other cars that are more fun to drive.

The long-term plan for my car is to prep it for STX and then DSP, but all modifications will be done in a way that a future owner can restore the car to original after the 20 year olds wrap them around trees...

my opinion...not a car top sit around an collect dust as a "collector" but would be more inline with being a weekend car and occasional weekday car..its really nice and clean but its really nothing special..

Not with that many miles, and it looks like the KY'd the entire car.

If i would by this car i would drive it on the weekends and keep driving my other car as a daily driver (it has 280.000 miles on it). Do some mods of course,

looks like a polished turd to me. It is a nice car that someone detailed the crap out of and is goign to try to make a nice dollar off of. My daily looks just as clean as that in pics and I paid less than 20 dollars for it a half year ago.

E30s will def. be collectors cars some day. too many??????? hell, they made over 1 million 57 Chevys in one year, and it is now the icon of american classics all over the world.

Definitely a clean car but no collectors car atm.
