Really? You want to tell a guy who is trying to earn a living that he should let everyone else build their own chip?

Here comes a rant, please refer to the red text at the bottom of the page if you don't care about my rant.

I'm sure you have a great job, like...grill cook at McDonald's. Now I can make my own burger at home and do a pretty damn good job. However, I wouldn't plan on selling my burger recipe as McDonald's to other people. It's generally unethical to tell a business owner that they should close their doors and find another career because you think you've unlocked their secrets and want to give them away. That's like your boss coming in to you at McDonald's and the conversation going like this:
"Hey Billy, people at home are making their own burgers so McDonald's feels they should just close down." "But Boss!" you exclaim, "this is my career and I don't have the qualifications nor experience to go work anywhere else." Your Boss looks down at you solemnly and says "isn't this like the time you tried giving away a file from Mark D for free?" You stagger back, petrified at the cited notion and now realizing your mistake. Your boss, now scowling says calmly "Karma is a bitch."

MarkD, thanks for creating the one upgrade that none of us will ever argue is a wise and worthwhile purchase for our car. I wish you the best of luck in getting this sorted and can assure you that you have the support of this community behind you.

I called and talked to PayPal and eBay yesterday, PayPal quickly passed me on to eBay without really listening to my story. The people at eBay listened. They are going to investigate Perez's listings. They also told me I have to call PayPal back for the transactions that did not do through eBay. What he would do is watch who mentioned they wanted a MarkD chip on the forums, then send them a PM. So there was no listing on eBay for chips he sold with a very close copy of my label. The chips sold on eBay have some other label, but who else sels a chip for a 173 DME with 19# injectors? I don't think anyopne else makes one currently.
So to answer your question, I have to call PayPal again and talk to them. But it won't be today as I have some other work to do.

Glad to see the community helping out here. Been a LOOOONG time member here, but don't post all too much due to my lack of interesting news or knowledge i can bring to the discussion. But, i do feel this is would be a good time to get what, my 80th post or something like that in 5 years or so to commend Mark for what he does and to let the people ripping his product off that the unethical, crude, and all around shitty demeanor in which you act will in fact come around and bite you in the ass.

Really? I bought one for my 325i way back and subsequently had a guy with a 540i 6 speed tell me my car was "fast." I definitely felt a difference.

My power from the Mark D chip was very noticeable. I checked for vacum leaks, adj. the valves right before the chip install. I have had BMW mechanics tell me the cap, rotor and wires will never fail, changed all those out a couple years ago and it felt a huge difference. I also installed pro cleaned injectors. A plugged CAT or an improperly adjusted air fuel screw will mess it up, i see screws all the time only backed out 3/4-1 turn, a mechanics easy way of not finding a vacum leak. Bad FPR but working. These will slow it down too. Is your throttle cable tight?? I think there might be an issue with your motor other than the chip.

Did you ever contact me regarding that? Send it back for a refund if it doesn't work, no reason to buy something that for whatever reason does not work for you. Or send me an email to discuss what I may be able to do to diagnose what is the problem, if you still have the car. Is your car a North American version or something else?

Seat of the pants is 99% bullshit. I have dyno tuned hundred's of motorcycles over the years and more than a few customers have told me i have made their bikes slower after a dyno tune because the power curve is smoother than before i tuned it . An engine that hits like a 2 stroke feels fast like crazy but isnt . A properly tuned engine makes the most power everywhere and does not feel like it has a 400 degree cam.

Mark, I purchased one of the knockoffs at least two years ago and was the one who sent it to you/your chip guy to be analyzed. It had a checksum error that would cause my car to spontaneously shut off while being driven. Figured I'd remind you in case you forgot.

Very true. My turbo car transitions in to boost so smoothly that it feels slow and makes it hard to break traction.
