I'm glad you like it. I get emails from many people saying how they love the chips, and then I also get messages from "HakenTT" saying that I just make junk and don't really know what I am doing. But then he questions why I correct the checksum in the chip, saying it isn't required.

Please hold on to it for now or scan and email if you like, as I've talked to eBay and PayPal and they will want to see that info. PayPal transaction numbers are what I was looking for as that does not require that you show me an actual bank statement.

We only have 89 and 93 octane here so according to your chart i might as well get a 93 chip since i cant by 91 octane? Let me know and i will place an order. The car is all stock 5 speed except for a free flow muffler.

Mark you should post pics of your chip and the copies pointing out the differences in hardware. I bet a lot of people have fakes they truly believe are real I'm always amazed at how many people can't afford a matched set of tires yet claim they have a $200+ chip in their ECU.

It's not easy to protect them, but the DMCA and other copyright acts basically give you a copyright by default if you develop some intellectual property. I also have HakenTT emailing the files around to people for free...
It's not a good time to be a chip developer.

Maybe it is time to support people who are willing to tune their own chip using free software.

What a shitty situation. Best of luck, Mark. I still have the 93 octane chip for the M42 from a GB; as everyone says, it's the best mod I've made. Your $185 is an awesome price. Not sure what the clone chips go for, but now that we know they don't work right, I don't see why anyone would even use one if it were free.

Mark is supporting enthusiasts like us by making chips that nobody else does (and at a great price) so we need to continue to support him.

About a month ago, you offered to send a file to a guy in Dubai (username Marsuper) because I had not responded all his various PM's and emails quickly. (you just deleted that post today) So how would I know that you never emailed any files before. Then you proceeded to say that I only adjst the timing, and modify the checksum when that is not even required in Motronic 1.3. And I already told you I have dome the minimum to get the job done in an unlocked file. I can do a lot more and I will, once I lock down the file.

That could be good, but it also might give copiers a better idea of what his look like so they can get as close as possible, cosmetically.

I bought one from him, just got it in the mail last night and wanted to check with Mark and he spotted it right away. I'm a fool for letting him get me, but I guess it's an experience and teaches me to be wiser. In the end, I hope he goes to the fullest extent. He deserves it.
