OK, here come the "fun" post.

As some of my close r3v friends know, my older Brother suddenly passed away this fall. He and I work for the same parent company. He worked for The Ridge Tool Co. (Ridgid) selling to Home Depot, and I work for it's sister company doing the same. That being said, I now own his tool collection. While most of you know Ridgid to be a Home Depot brand, the name is only leased by Home Depot and is owned by Emerson Electric. Ridge Tool makes some of the best american plumbing and hand tools in the country. Here is a taste of what I am dealing with.
My brother's box (black) and mine (red).

bottom drawer... what's in that ridgid case?

    A compact SeeSnake of course!

Next drawer old school Husky set

    Next hand cutting tools

    Next

Next sample pliers from Ridgid (none of these were sold at retail).

    Screwdrivers all unused

    Specialty screwdrivers and nut-drivers (unused)

On top of that, all his leftovers

Samples that were never sold at retail, but were sold to STAFDA houses

Also a ton of wet-dry vac stuff

and not pictured would be all the plumbing tools. While my brother's death was and is a sad, sad deal for all involved, his tools will be used lovingly by me and his friends who also recieved TONS of his hand tools as well. It makes me happy to walk into my workshop and see his stuff sitting there waiting for me to use.
    On more tool coming up!
    Yours truly,
    Rich

Latest addition to the lab. It's an older model, but trusty.

I'll try to get some pics of my set up one of these days when I can do a nice panorama if anyone is interested.

That depends alot on what you need it for....Most compressors manfactures will show you a chart that will let you know what model to buy. Compressors range form a small thing, only good to inflate a basketball, to pro models that can run a impact wrench non-stop. Then there is the compressors that you might buy if you want to paint.

Buy the biggest compressor you can afford. You can never have too much air. Impact guns eat it up REALLY quick.

But - with that said....I think a cordless impact is where it's at for most e30 week-end shade tree guys.

Very true. I use my 3/8 impact all the time. A 1/2" would be nice to have if you just work at home on weekends. I use Makita.
