I had an AutoZone cordless impact gun. It worked perfectly, the only reason I don't have it anymore is because I needed some extra cash. For $99 it's a perfect junkyard gun too -
The new snapon ratchets are awesome. At first I protested them and wouldn't buy one because they lack the "made in USA" stamping and there we're rumors of chinese manufacturing.. but I'm pretty sure they can't write usa simply because some internals are from Italy.Leave a comment:

Got a Snap On F80 for Christmas and finally got to use it a bit last night. Wow I love this thing far more than the Craftsman I used to use.

So powertool wise, what would be a good start? I'm comparing but get the same results.
I want to at least start off with a 18v or more -Drill driver -Impact driver -Sawzall -lightLeave a comment:

I have a LOT of things that are craftsman...power tools, hand tools, wood working tools, etc... nothing has failed me yet. The 19.2 V impact wrench is pretty handy, it works like a champ!Leave a comment:

I've owned a set of Gear Ratchet brand wrenches for ~5 years now and have literally hit them with a hammer to break a bolt loose with no damage to the wrench.
And my post was a general comment about ALL Craftsman Universal wrenches, not just the ratcheting one. The argument was about the fact they are "universal" not that they are ratcheting.
A bit of a note too, the craftsman ones are made in China.

Who the hell tries to break a bolt loose with a 12pt racheting wrench?
Racheting wrenches are awesome, i just wish I had some bigger than 15mm.
Flex head would be nice too, but I'm no baller.Leave a comment:

I tend to agree. My view of "universal" or "multi" tools is that while they are able to do a lot of things, they don't do each of those things equally as well as one tool made specifically for the job. Those wrenches seem to grip a VERY small portion of the head of a bolt in comparison to a 6-point or even a 12-point regular wrench, meaning you are more likely to strip a bolt head.
On top of that, I hate how HUGE the open end of the wrench is on those. I don't know why they made then so big when their regular wrenches aren't that massive.Leave a comment:
