    How much power would an m50 put out if...

    It has new .20 over pistons, shorter balanced rods, new crank, new bearings in the bottom end, brand new head with m3 spec euro schrick cam, and m3 valves and seats? With a 3.2 m3 crank and rods.

                  Haha, that's the parts list from a guy selling an m50. He said it'll put out 400 + hp.

                          Only with a turbo or supercharger.

                                      Look at it this way, basically you have an s52 bottom end with a "euro"-ish s50 top. You'll get somewhere around 290-300hp at the crank. (s50 has 286 to the crank).

                                              whatever that is. Funny too, because I thought US S50/M50 heads were exactly the same, and you can't swap a euro head onto a US block..

                                              basically, the guy's totally full of shit.

                                                          240hp, BMW made that motor it's called the S52, they even sold them in 96-99 M3's in the USA. That is if nothing stupid was done to ruin compression ratio or make it too high such that pinging is inevitable, in that case it might make 245hp for a few weeks then blow up.
