    MAACO AND BRONZIT OWNZ JOO!

OOOOK, so I bought an 87 ES with 140K miles, and no rust. From the pictures, it was clear that the car was fairly well taken care of, and the paint looked good - thought it was royalblau. Basketweaves, nice tires, runs great, needs a pass rear wheel bearing. Black vinyl interior is shot. Basically every interior panel has some form of damage - no biggie, I have 6 of everything anyways. Came with a pretty nice clarion deck and some legacy front 6.5's cut into the factory kicks, and 6x9 kenwoods in the rear - sounds pretty decent.

Bought the car with multiple close ups, knowing it had no rust and ran well, all for $900. I'm happy with the deal for all that I got. The things I need for it I already have (besides the bearing), and I got a low mileage, rust free ES with lots of extras.

Unfortunately, pictures really can't get the job done as well as they should. The car is very clean, no rust, anywhere. But...pop the trunk and hood, and strangely, a different color lies everywhere else...

...yup...bronzit :) The respray was poorly done, and they literally sprayed the car as it stands - the only "extra" they did was the door jambs. Everywhere else is still bronzit. Whatever, the paint looks good from 5-10 feet and further, it looks better than my rusty faded zinno beater, and I'm sure with a little polishing it'll look fine. It's just a beater for the next few months, then it'll spend it's life as a daily/track rat while I build my euro. So for what it is, the car is perfect. I would rather they had just left it factory color, but you can't win them all.

The seller, btw, is an awesome guy, was never dishonest, and gave me a ton of free shit. He's making room for his 05 white M3, so he was glad to see it go to a good home ;)

My story has a moral, I swear - if the car looks that good in pics, and you really care if it looks that good (unlike me), see it in person - maaco jobs on computer pics can look damn fine.

I dig your setup, as in too many cars to drive.

    :o

Bronzit is a pretty crazy surprise.

I really do have to many fucking e30's Devon. Couple more weeks...

Bronzit was the only color I would have expected lol. Just sucks they did such a crap job of all the edges - but so long as the trunk, hood and doors are all shut, the car looks great... lol.

PS - he "shadowlined" the side body trim - I think he used house paint. Looks AWESOME, let me tell you. Yeah. That shit is coming off crazy fast.

PS - I knew you'd be the first to jump on this post. Seriously.

        Haha.

I see in your future buying a "Tin Shed" those custom wharehouse style buildings that can be ventilated and built in a day.

All purpose spraypaint is where it's at come on now.

Pics the PO took, this is what I bought the car based on, besides many emails and descriptions.

That'd be nice. But I may just move to a bigger location - I have two partners in my parting projects, so the rent can be split a bit more.

Did you not notice the under hood shot with the bronzit paint?

Oh well, sounds like a good deal anyway.

BTW, that is definitely not Royalblau Metallic like my car.

Not a bad beater. But I thought you had one already? Why do you need so many E30's?

EDIT: Does that thing have a fartcan?

                      RISING EDGE

Let's drive fast and have fun.

I can feel that. Mine is cosmoblau met. underneath it's black facade. also, I have the housepaint shadowline, although 85% removed (have fun with that) . maaco did not cut in though, mine is housepaint cut in. nobody will notice though. ever think of stripping maaco's job? I really want to. cosmo is a really nice color, never see any. looks good in the pics.

Just because under the hood was not painted does not mean it was maaco.

Take off the door mouldings, if its bronzit under there then...

                            Sold it.

We all know you bought it for those rare clutch/brake/accerlator pedals. Quit lying.
