There was a similar set-up car making 190hp to the wheels on same boost level. The d17 isnt too bad to start with. His only other options would be motor swap to rsx-s or a k20 motor. Although ive seen two d16 turbos making over 350 wheel hp in town, one was 500.

Overall the car is fast but its been beat a few times by some nicely modded turbos. He really doesnt race to many people, but there are a lot of hot srt4s out here. One running high 11s. It could run 11psi daily with the five speed, but much over that and it would need emanage or some type of computer, bigger injectors, and some internal work.

Auto tranny has slipped on 9psi a few times, 5 speed is pretty involved, lots of parts/money/downtime. We were going to try to find the parts but he nor I want to mess with it. Plus he's been wanting an m3 for awhile now.

I think he is going to sell the turbo separate from the car.

Thats what I always thought. It is a pretty nice car. I tried to talk him out of all kinds of rice mods, most of the stereo is gone, screens, fiberglass box, and most of the junk. The stock honda areo kit really suits it nicely.

Tuesday is now when were going down to see the car, maybe pick it up. I wont let him go the wrong way on that car...

i liked the fact that he turboed it, but then again because its an auto its not gona be any fun. i dont like the rice wheels or body kit. his system probably bumped hard as shit, but it wasnt the kind of equipment i would have bought.

that civic had cool stuff... if your in fast and the furious.

Went to look at that m3 yesterday, took my e30 for a better first impression (150 mile round trip). Kid was about my age anyway. Car was in perfect shape needed only rear rotors, new shifter bushings and maybe aluminum thermostat and water pump housing rather than plastic.

After he made an offer on the car the seller decideds to tell us that he already signed a contract with another buyer and he left a deposit. He had a mechanic coming to look at the car and he was going to pay today. I immediately walked away in frustration over a waste of a trip. Any buyer who needs a mechanic to look at an M car shouldnt be buying it, not to mention how unprofessional it was of the seller.

If this guy backs out we're going to pick it up this weekend since its worth every cent he is asking, might as well take advantage of him.

-last night took the car out for a little driving, ran with a 1st gen DSM 5 speed running 13psi when we were at around 6. Guy looked a little shocked when we started gaining on him.

Sometimes it's a good idea to have someone more knowledgable than yourself take a look at the car, to notice the little quirks that a mechanic would be familiar with and your "average Joe" driver wouldn't.

That is a good point. If i weren't mechanically savy, I'd want someone to verify a car's condition, but since its an M car it deserves an enthusiest driving it and taking care of it, and not just the average joe.

Makes me think of the people who have to give up nice cars because they rush into purchase and dont take the time to research the maintanence and cost of upkeep for such a car.

I am willing to bet more than 80% of M cars are owned by non-enthusiasts.
