I've always meant to ask, where do you guys jack so that your jack stands stay there. I always put my cheap advance auto jack right on the edge and jack there. As soon as it's high enough for a stand then I slip it under there. It just weirds me out because that edge bends a little sometimes.

then you are jacking it up in the wrong spot. there are supports for jacks under the car.
look at the frame rails.
also make sure if you are only getting the front up, keep car in gear and ebrake on. or if back is going up put roll stops in front/behind front tires and keep ebrake on.
i also put a rim under the car just in case. but i have/have seen cars jacked up in VERY unsafe ways and it is not a good feeling having to get under it.
make sure you are on cement or good surface too.Comment
