Still have some details to add. License plate bracket and lights, CB antenna mount, and so on. There will be a fold down table behind the tire as well for camp cooking.

Little project Iv been working on for my Toyota. No fancy shiny TIG welds here. Just down home function and dirty flux core spray gun work. I was originally going to do it with solid wire and gas but Iv been having issues with the gas valve in the welder sticking on, and the gas nozzle in the gun was all gunked up, so I decided to just do flux core.
Salvaged some tube from a work truck roof rack, and bought my self a weld on trailer axle and a latch. Jerry can holder is made of some metal pallet I fished out of a dumpster. Nice when you can build for almost free.
Bought my self my first tube notcher. Just got an cheepo one from Harbor Freight. Works ok for $45. Cant complain.

The imposing steel sculpture, created by local artist Ray Lonsdale, has been installed on Seaham seafront in Country Durham and will remain in place for three months.

I want to try this when I get a new lead. I have a fixed head right now and it's such a pain to weld out of position.

I've saved a bunch of auto transmission gears to make a lamp or a standup ashtray. What cam did you use? Sadly the m20 cams are not hollow so it would make a poor lamp. Keeping with the topic though, I realized I'm getting old because I had to ask my wife what pinterest was. She told me it was just a bulletin board for pictures from various sources. I said huh? She said say you find e30 pictures all over the internet you like, you can pin them to your own pinterest page and share your "found pics" gallery.

OK, so I still think it's a solution to a non-problem, make a google album for goodness sake.

Not mine- but a great practice drill, that is some thin aluminum:

I made this for my dad for Christmas this year. Rotor is off the e30, and the sprocket and cam are out of an LS1.

I found out that the sprocket was hardened with the oiling process......glad I decided to hide the welds underneath they are horrendous.
