    Impressions from the Nissan Leaf

So i got to ride in the Nissan Leaf and I gotta say, it exceeded my expectations. It's quick, balance feels pretty good, and sooo quiet, like a glider through air. It's like nothing I've ever been in. Although I love ICEs, I think my next DD will be electric in a few years. (Will always have my E30 of course). I know they're not for everybody but I'm pretty excited about seeing more electric cars.

Nissan leaf looks like garbage compared to the Volt....The volt looks surprisingly nice and is still better from what I've read

I'll save my money and wait until I can get a hydrogen car easily. Electric cars are just not that practical.

If it takes longer to fill up a tank than it does to empty one, what is the point.

To save the earth. So much shit is dumped on mother nature that in a few thousand years there will be drastic changes in climates throughout the entire planet. Don't be Ignorant about Earth You live on her too.

I see your point and I know it will get better but have you considered how much pollution is made during the creation of those batteries?

I too like the idea of Hydrogen. As James May said, "It's the car of tomorrow because it's like the car of today".

there was a Tesla roadster on the freeway with me last week. I checked it out pretty good. It's kinda funny because it's definitely way faster than my E30, but you probably wouldn't notice it if you didn't already know what it was.

the Leaf? meh. it's less gay than a Prius, but only because it's not a fucking hybrid, or built by Toyota. it's a start, I guess.

So we will plug into that coal fired outlet and pretend that it really is more environmentally safe.

I will wait for a hydrogen system as well. It's not so far down the road.

teslas are becoming less and less rare in the d.c. area. seems like i see at least one different one a month. definitely would rock one. i saw a gray one in nova with the plates NOGA5. haha. takes off so quietly.

i'd definitely rock an electric car if i was up for buying a new car. but im not. so w/e. not for the environment, but for the money saved in gas. but it would definitely be fun to be all superior to eco-prius drivers. haha.

Yeah, I'm not in it for the practicality or saving the planet. It was just a very different driving experience that I would enjoy for a daily driver. I definitely won't be getting a Leaf but there are many in design phase that I would be interested in. The BMW "i3" perhaps.

unfortunately the car payments for a $50k electric car (plus higher electric bill) will more than offset any gas savings. unless you're spending more than $1000 a month on gas.
