    And you thought BMW parts were expensive



    A replacement alternator for my bike is 742 dollars.

    Is it more worth it to just bring it somewhere? It looks like a bad regulator but the regulator is 255 dollars so I'd hate to buy it and that's not it.

      I actually think most BMW parts are quite cheap. Ask any of your friends with a somewhat modern Ford how much it costs to replace their brakes..

          The ZX-7R was a low production street bike, so I'm not surprised.

          Your best bet would be to take it so some local, old guy who does starter/alternator rebuilds and see what he can do for you.

                Oh well, I dunno jack about Bikes to be honest. Figured a Ninja is a Ninja. Good luck with that. And I second trying to have it rebuilt.

                        Ever consider swapping in a different alternator? Might take a bit of research ti find something that would fit and work, but even if you had to make a custom bracket and do a little wiring, it would still be better then to spend $700.
