    Oh yea?

Lets tell your current girlfriend about this idea.

I would think it would be the opposite. 3.25 input turns for 1 output revolution.

input is the small gear, output is the big gear. Public school ftw!

1+ I cannot believe people don't know this yet. Anyone ever come across a site that sells the tags? I rebuilt both of my LSD diffs and it would be nice to slap on some mint tags.

You can tell by the carrier that your diff is a limited slip. 100%. An open diff looks completely different. Lof8 you are correct, however many turns of the input flange it takes to rotate the output flanges 1 (one) revolution is the ratio. You are now an expert.

open diff looks like this inside

count revolutions of flanges to driveshaft as stated above

I mean this nicely...but get facts straight before throwing a member under the bus for your ignorance

I bought a BMW lsd unit out of a wrecking yard, it was from an 80's 5 series with a medium case diff. Tag said 4.27, but the actual ratio inside was 3.64. WTF?

Now I don't trust the tags anymore. Rotate to verify or count teeth and do the math.

+1 Its obvious you don't know a ton about diffs, which is fine, we all start somewhere, but learn before trying to dispute the seller. Counting teeth is going to be the most accurate way of solving what ratio it is, if you're too lazy to do it then don't bring the seller down because you won't believe what ratio he said it is.
