for the 20-25$ more an iS lip costs, I prefer the OEM option( clips included). make something for early models...Comment

If this ends up working I would probably say skirts would be the best way to go. iS skirts are pretty expensive if you're even able to find them. And er'body wants iS skirts.Comment

Look at the intricacy of the way the oe piece holds the clips. Youll be dragging 75 dollar replica lips down every freeway in the USA as soon as the wind blows. or you run over a cig buttComment

Your best bet is just to use abs plastic or something related, it's flexible yet strong.
I don't know how many lips you can squeeze out of ten pounds,
but if you can work out the price of labor and/or machine time you might be able to get a bit of a profit...Comment

well getting the plastic itself should be no problem for me. As I said my father is a plastics engineer and has been for a long time, and he suggested ABS as soon as I mentioned the idea. My main concern is to what people want and the price I will be able to give it to them at. I can see a rieger lip would be top priority. I should be hearing back from my friend that would like to make the mold in the next couple days. Until then keep the feedback/suggestions coming.Last edited by mcgillaguddy; 05-27-2011, 06:50 AM.1988 M6 - The real project.
