I only spend money that I can spare on my car.
Right before I get a new salary, I transfer whats left from the previous salary to the E30 Account.

    Now saving for a Euro E36 m3 3.2 to part out. ;)

I was in your position, then my ex left me. You have no idea how much hat freed up. I spent a little over $3k in 8 months. That's more than I had EVER spent on my e30 in the 2years that I was with her. Although I do miss the consistent poon :(

yeah it sounds like you're on some sort of payment plan? Thats probably your first mistake, i always pay for things up front so it doesn't bite me in the ass later. I'm with you though, I can't count the number of times a 'budget' project has cost me a ton of money just cause I get carried away with the 'while im in there' kinda stuff. Those little things add up quick..

It's just the fact of having someone else work on my car, I work 40 hours a week and weekends I run my own business. I'm only 19 and I have the busiest schedule ever plus school. It seems like every time I take my car in for a repair that I know how much will cost something else pops up like cracked head or bad rockers or ripped piping.

I planned out my repairs perfectly with my money and I even had money left over, now I'm struggling because of those extra repairs I didn't know of. I guess from now on like I said double my money before I go in just to have that cushion. Hopefully this is the last big fix...

No, because I save up the extra money (money not spent on 401k, savings, going out etc) and then buy it with cash.

My wife still thinks I spend too much, then I point to the 80-90 pairs of shoes in the closet sitting next to her 20+ purses, inside her walk-in closet full of clothes.

                That usually fixes the conversation.

I feel you man. I have an 87 325i convertible and if this car did not have major sentimental value. I would NEVER have an old car like this and especially put the money into an old car like I am doing. And its not just the money it is the mental stress that goes along with it. If it is not one thing with the car it is another.

At this point in time I'd rather have an old car that I've sunk money into and thoroughly enjoy, than a new car I'm paying payments on and hate.

Either way though, if your daily breaks down...you fix it. Costs money to have a car, new or old. While a new vehicle may be less problematic it'll still need maintenance at some point.

You should consider the porn industry.

40 hours a week in San Diego at a dealership at the age of 19 sounds like a pretty comfortable wage to me? What are your habits? Do you save your money?

I save money, but my checkings account is very active. I always try and put away at least 30-40 percent of each pay check away. The rest I just play with or use for rent.

Okay, you pay rent. That's good.

My problem is sometimes I'd impulsively buy a part for my car that I need or might need and wont think twice that it's 80 - 100 bucks. Then I'd frugally think to myself, "damn do I reeealllyy want to spend 7 whole bucks for a meal down the street?" and realize what the hell is wrong with me.

A cage in a street car/concern with its color is pretty fast and furious. My advice is to save your money - I'm sure you wanted my advice.
