Police now have "SUPER BASS BINS" for traffic stops

http://whoknew.news.yahoo.com/?vid=25570923 Sounds like some CAI/Army/Marine billion dollar sound warp BS is now going to use on the American Public. Could a M20 make enough noise with straight pipes to defend it self ??. I would think a tracer round through the rear window might get the guy with the 22" spinners and DA Bass to stop or just your standard issue billy club smaking the drivers window. "Well your Honor, I was fine til the cops made me instantly deaf and sick behind the wheel of a moving car with there sound warp machine and I guess i did run over your wife, They should be in Jail!!!! So does that mean I can now call them in for disturbing the peace?

I see nothing wrong with it.

Ive been hearing different sounds like this coming from ambulances and cops recently - I dont think its too necessary; but what does my opinion matter? I am just a good'ol citezen who has to follow rules.

"People might hear it and just run away." Like some people don't do that already with normal sirens?

I don't see it as a problem either. It's just to get someone's attention, not a constant siren that's going to make you throw up or bleed out. ....Unless you're in an e28. ;)

Like the guy in the vidio said at the end they will probably freek out and run you over, I just carry a can of horn, aquired at the boat shop, works great now that summer is here, worked great last week, pulled up to a stop, 140 BD next lane, his window was open SO I blew the horn, he turned it down a little so he listened to my horn til the light turned green. I like loud but not from 2 blocks a way, the car is rattling louder than the bass, oon the Highway, blow your brains out, city street BS!! Wonder if i could play some Bee Gee's music that loud to fight back with my horn.

That took me a great while to understand.
But, instead of BeeGee's, I prefer to jump to "We built this city", or "Scatman", or some serious Frank Sinatra, or Povaratti.

Nothing like pulling up to a car blaring rap, and blaring Recitar!... Vesti La Guibba right back at them louder than their system can go.

I agree. People here literally ignore sirens anyway; they just don't care. Although I think ambulances should use these instead of cops. Around here the cops usually just use their sirens to get through red lights and shut them off afterwards. Gotta get to that Tim Horton's I guess.

Theve been using this in NYC for a while now (just over a year). Its startling at first but I guess with all the noise, we get used to it.

I've seen and heard a few ambulances with this feature already in my area. Definitely catches your attention.
I think it's beneficial to the ambulances and fire dept. only. Not so much the police. Everyone already shits bricks once they see black and white marked cars.
