My brother took my 2001 540i to the gym and when coming back this happened: The center console climate control is completely off or un-illuminated and unresponsive, and the heater is blowing at hurricane urgency solely to the footwells with a temperature not dissimilar to "center of the earth scorching" intensity. Even when the car is off, with the key completely out of the ignition, but the battery is connected, it blows (literally and figuratively). I had to stop it by disconnecting the battery. I have heard of this problem in newer cars but dont remember the possible causes. Furthermore, Matt (MR325) is there any way this can be remedied either at this house, or taking it to TNG Specialties anytime soon if it is not an easy fix? Thank you for your input, fellas.
