Suppose you bought the body molds and stamping machines used to create the E30 and were going to reproduce the E30 in modern times. What would you change, and what newer technologies would you use?
I would want a late model e30 325i with:
- Oil pan design less prone to damage
- Aluminum suspension components
- Multi-link rear suspension
- High revving (7500- 7800 rpm redline) 2.5L 24v aluminum engine with modern fuel management and VANOS (think M50B25TU with an aluminum block)
- OBC with more modes/larger display
- 5 lug
- 3 spoke airbag steering wheel
- Reinforced sway bar mounting points
- Engine positioned a few inches further back in the engine bay(more like an E36)
- Quicker ratio steering rack
-Digital odometer readout to fix the odometer issues
-Ellipsoids with HID's standard
-All other lighting = LED
-Higher rear arch like an early model
-Make the airbox and intake boot less of a hassle to remove/install.
-Relocate ABS unit to where the battery is normally located in a vert or 318i (passenger side firewall)
What things would you include or change?
