yay, all resolved. Wanted to bump this thread, for others to see a happy ending. Not a lot of those happen in this section.

I had a feeling this would turn out alright. I've bought a ton of stuff from Ireland over the years and have never had an issue.Comment

I know this car, he has a ton of parts from you guys. I welded the reinforcements of the huge rear sway bar and was surprised at the mount and the second hand experience of him saying there was no response. Glad to see this now get worked out.Comment

Aloha Andrew,
My passanger side crumbled away, no melting issues., it lasted 7+ years.
Drivers side looks like it started to fail and eventually gave up during swap.
- removed/reinstall an arm at the time from block, installed new mount to it.
- snug bracket to block
- lower block until lower m/m stud slips through subframe and install nut, do not tighten.
- tighten bracket to block
- lower motor until it rest on subframe
- do other side
- only thighten lower m/m nuts to subframe after replacing second motor mount.
Peerless hooked me up with a set of your replacements.

How well has the mounts from Silence on this forum hold up? I am currently running e28 mounts for my 24v swap. From the looks of these I am sticking with stock that lasts 15+ years.~ Puch Cafe. ~ Do business? feedback ~ Check out my leather company ~

i used stock e21 tranny mounts for my setup. It takes a little bit of modification due to the bolts in the mount being 10m instead of 8m. But they are also a little larger in diameter and require just a little trimming to fit on the x-member due to the locator notches on the x-member. However they are firmer than e30 stock mounts, but i don't get any vibration from them. Im happy with em and they are way cheaper than poly mountssigpicComment

^ Woah, strong words there buddy.
You do realize that with a bolt through mount that the stress of engine vibration would be transferred solely through the bolt effectively making it a very skinny solid mount. The reason it is not a bolt through design is so the urethane can dampen/dissipate the vibration before it hits the frame (this is the same theory applied to the stock rubber mounts, just less dampening. ).
Im very HAPPY with ALL the bushing that they SELL .

I'm not sure when Bishop installed the mounts on my car but they seem to be doing fine for me.

Those heatshields are standard for the aluminum engine arms, which are shown in the picture. Those are Euro only parts. We always got steel arms with the crash plates. Interesting that your '92 parts car has them (if I read your post right).Comment
