All E30s had no third brake light in 84/85 IIRC.

ANY car from 85 and back dont have a 3rd brake light. In 86 is when DOT mandated them to be put in new cars.

Ya i hate the horrid slapped on ones they did for 86-87. I deleted mine but now my check panel always reminds me.

And I said "IIRC" because I do not know that the european laws are and I did not want some douche to be like "duh Wishno your soo stupid my 86 euro doesn't have a third brake light either".

This. They're all German. The US delivered cars just happened to get some ugly shit slapped on.

As Kvasi said if it is in fact a 325e it was built for North America and is not a Euro car. As someone else said, who cares! Early models w/Euro bumpers are the the best looking e30's imo.

I recall my dad calling them robot eyes or something when the 3rd brake lights started to apper on cars. Cause american cars had the same silly looking light that looked like it was slapped into them too. And i'm not to for sure about the euro laws either. Its just the car at question is an 85, and it wouldnt have the 3rd light in it either way.

the e30 third brake light is ok, now the sl 560 from 86 to 87 thats horrible, ruined the car.
