Yes, idle control tuning can be a royal PITA. It doesn't help that there are 5 pages of idle control settings in MS2extra which don't cover everything idle related.

Can't you run a base tune then run pulls on the freeway and fine tune from there? A tad more ilegal. I also heard the software only runs on xp computers, nothing greater so i would be SOL.

            Yes. Also steep hills etc.

Yes I know, had a stepper motor in MSII and then switched to a 318i e36 m42 ICV I think and helped much more, although, still with my Haltech E11v2 I can't tune the hell of it properly, it's just no OEM feeling/parameters. To get it dialed like factory, you gotta prepare some long time tunning and still I don't think you will be able to cver every part of the MAP in the low load properly in every condition you drive the car.

Check out MS2extra mariob V17 (real mouthfull) . Its in the developer section of the forum. He added some new features like anti stall and hysteresis which really helps resolve a lot of the issues with PID idle tuning. I'm using it with AC compressor cycling on and off etc, no more wandering RPM, no more stalls. The regular MS2 developers really don't like it because this guy really 1 upped them.

I think a lot of people don't realize the broad spectrum of what a megasquirt system can be. Everywhere from a $100 kit where you get a circuit board, components and a case to solder together to a $500? PnP kit that's super user friendly.
