In San Diego, the speed limit on the freeway is 65, and everyone goes 80. If you don't go 80, you are in everyone else's way. Someone always gets pulled over. Just depends on who the unlucky commuter is that the cop wants to pick on.Leave a comment:

You guys are saying the OP broke the law doing 60 in a 65. A ticket for 65 in a 60?
There is too much vagina on r3v lately.
Seriously OP, check your state vehicle code (the code next to your infraction on your ticket) and look it up and see how to protect yourself for next time. Don't fight it, its a $90 ticket. Its just a driving tax, just pay it.
If you got a Cali speeding ticket you'd be in maybe 250-350, and over 500 for a basic speed law ticket. so $90 is like a fix-it ticket for us.Leave a comment:

i read this 3 times and we are arguing the same point.Uggg... really?
The tolerance for speedo discrepancy is 0>+10%. Meaning the speedo can never read more than it indicates, but be at least wihin 10% below what it indicates. Specifically for tire size disrepancies. Now this is a manufacturer tolerance, and has been for ages. But, you are not the manufacturer, are you?
The 2% leeway is of the posted speed limit, for speedo discrepancies. Or 1mph for anything under 100mph (All posted limits). Why on earth would I claim 2% for the speedo when your tire wear breaks that percentage?
And, in my state, 2mph is $40 dollars or so less on your ticket. So yes, if found guilty it would be a $40 or so dollar favor the cop gave me.
I speed. All the time in fact. But will I complain about a 5mph over ticket? Nope. Cop caught me fair and square. It's my fault for not being vigilant when breaking the law. It's now up to me to take matter into MY hands, cross reference the officer when court comes, and most likely have the ticket thrown out unless the officer is on the ball that day.
Moral of the story. I dont really give a fuck either way.
ACTUAL SPEED < SPEEDO SPEED DISPLAYED IN CAR 2-5%
When I said your theory was out, your first explanation essentially that the speedo in the car reads less than his actual speed hence the adjustment on the write up. which would be incorrect. your second statement says the same thing I am trying to argue. The speedo can't show a lower mph than the car is actually doing. thats all.
and moral of the story is the same, i dont care either.
OP you wouldnt post that you stabbed a guy and was being tried for attempted murder and the court was somehow doing your wrong would you?
you will find that the penal code is written to screw you whenever they want. there is almost nothing that they couldn't fine you for because its all at the discretion of the cop. i'm not saying i have never broken the law, but dont be mad cus you got caught with your hand in the cookie jar after everyone else got a cookie. it was your turn.Leave a comment:

Say whatever you want, you would be pissed too if you got a ticket for 5 over.OP is the same kind of idiot who gets mad when city bus drivers don't let him on if he doesn't have quite enough change for the fare.
The speed limit was 60, you were caught going 65. You broke the law, be a man and admit you did wrong. Yes, I speed but when I'm caught the only one to be mad at is myself. I am an adult about it and don't cry because I have to be accountable for my actions.
You guys are ridiculous. Sure he was speeding, technically. Doesn't mean he was endangering anyone. The state just picked on him to feed their revenue. That's shitty. It's our reality these days, but it's still shitty.Leave a comment:

why is anyone giving him shit for +7mph?
stop being a douchebag. everyone here drives 80mph in a 65 anyway. some of us, even more. plz stfu.
that seems like a douche move by the cop. he was probably pulling you over to check for other things, like drugs.Leave a comment:

I thought your insurance rate goes up because of the points. That's why traffic school ==> no points ==> no insurance rate change. Isn't this the case?Leave a comment:

This. I can't stand going slowly, when I see a straight open road lying before me, holding my speed at 65mph causes pain in my prostate. 90 is more like it.I speed. All the time in fact. But will I complain about a 5mph over ticket? Nope. Cop caught me fair and square. It's my fault for not being vigilant when breaking the law. But when I get caught (which has happened a few times already), I pay the fine and get on with my life. I think of it this way: I buy the right to go over the speed limit for the low cost of $200-300 a year.Leave a comment:
