Buy the real thing, dont support someone who stole the software from the original author. Besides, how much are you actually saving? Do you really want your car running some unknown tuning software? With that being said, there are people who have run ebay chips with no issues and those who have had problems. Its really a crap shoot with those things.-Justin

yeah bad idea, buy a chip from someone who deserves the money not some scumbag fleabay Chinese copy.Comment

They don't have to be a Chinese copy. Any assclown can burn chips in his living room or mom's basement with a chip reader and pc.
Most are burned from copying a name brand chip tune.
Either way all chips are going to get you the same max gains.
Differences are in the raised rev limit and desired octane compatibility.
Yes there is $$ to be saved over name brand when you can get chips on ebay for like $40, thats a huge savings for potentially the exact same identical tune.
I've ran them for over 10years now.
I say go for it.Comment

I run an ebay chip in my eta. I've also run a Mark D chip in my old eta.
Both feel about the same.
That said, if I'd had the money at the time I would have bought Mark's chip again to help support him and his business. However I didn't so I spent $30 on the ebay chip instead.Comment

you can get a used namebrand chip for around the same price as the ebay ones. might as well just cover your arse and grab that.
I just picked up a racing dynamics chip for 35. that was $2 lower than the cheap-o ebay chips that I saw (which in general sketch me out).Comment

I'm in favor of supporting the people who actually put some R&D into their product, instead of just copying someones hard work. That said, everyone is on a budget, and name branded chips are considerably more pricey than the ebay rip-offs...Originally posted by DozyproductionsYou know why you're drinking that Pabst? I hate the stuff eBay makes. It's always cheap quality. Their in house manufacturing capabilities have got to be sub par. EBay needs to step up it's game if it wants to be competitive in the automotive parts manufacturing business, especially the aftermarket/tuning branch. Their R&D budget must not be what it seems....1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5Comment

You do understand that it's not eBay who makes the stuff on eBay right. It's where people sell stuff.
