This is awesome, I WILL get into sailing one day.
I like smaller boats though. Here's an Europa 30 class boat I basically grew up on. My grandfather built it in our back yard 20 some years ago:



Sailing fast is awesome:




The boat is built for high winds with its 1.5 ton keel, so if there is a big storm during a race, and when most of the boats have to go to the harbors, we can keep racing. A couple months ago during a race, two minutes before midnight, the weakest link, the aluminium spar threw in the towel tho... Not a pleasant sight

Very nice! I a small boat myself and I like on the water, but huge ships, like bulk carriers scare shit out of me.
