not sure about the law changing every year , maybe you mean Lebanese auto import laws prohibit anything older than an 11 year old vehicle?


In Canada we had a 15 year old law for any importation of vehicles. Ever since the JDM madness erupted, insurance co's went crazy , and the provincial Gov in Quebec slapped a 25 year law, so now you cant import anything newer than a 25 year old car.

Yeah its something like that...

I know in Poland and few other eastern block countries are like that too-- no older cars( older than 10 years or so) allowed in to try to keep junk out of the country


does Japan really have that many older BMWs? I just figured alot of the parts have just been sitting around for the last 10 years or so.

90% of chopped cars come from japan auctions. Long time ago used to be from europe but when the euro raised a lot the guys opted for the states and japan. Who would want to steal an e30 for parts? There is a law in lebanon that changes every year when it comes to import cars, now in 2011 it is prohibited for any older than a 2003 car to enter lebanon, every year it changes up, like in 2012 it will be 2004 to present. However when you see a newer model like 2008 and up, then you say yeah, whats up with that! Lol...

as far as real tech II cars go, check and see if it has a black headliner and the maplight mirror
