coming out around october. i know most purists wont want it anywhere near their car but it looks pretty clean. doesn't seem as user friendly as the sony DSX s300 and the screen seems pretty small but still. check it out.
i have been following this for a while. its a super lite version of android. cool thing is you can tether off your android phone in the car for data and get traffic and such. to be honest though, this screen is smaller than my phone and has a lot less features. also no discussion about sound quality for the stereo. my guess is they got parts from some other manufacturer, so prob nothing special here. there is a double-din android stereo coming out that looks better...but nothing we can do with that.
i have to agree about not being flush with the dash console is really lame, i'm sure this wont be that innovative and will just be water under the bridge 2 weeks after its released and by the time every wanna be G has one in there hummer.
i'm guessing someone who owned a bad batch of a droid.
many people i know with droids have glitchy software issues and there phone just completely shuts off sometimes and a buttload of other issues, mainly people with the droidX
I think we can all agree that the droid x is a piece of shit. My Samsung Intercept is pretty sold in stock form. I have all kinds of problems with it now, but that's because I hacked the shit out of it and need to do a factory reset lol

Moral of this story?
If you drive your e30 on stairs, you're gonna have a bad time.
Considering the bag of hurt that is most head unit interfaces, there's no reason why Android wouldn't be better. The real question is whether or not it sounds like crap and is durable.
I wish JBL would make a head unit that interfaced with the MS-8. That'd be perfect for me. Or even better, just built in the functionality.
my droid works fine? are you mad that a $99 droid does the same thing a $700 iphone does? :p
sounds neat, but I think it could be even better. a little bit pointless though, the thing I like about my droid is it replaces like 10 other devices and I can carry it everywhere in my pocket. I'd rather have something that synched automatically to my droid through bluetooth and played the sound over the car's speakers.
